One competitor is 80 years old.
Before 2024, women had to be between 18 and 28.
Now anyone can enter.
Married women and mothers can enter.
Trans women can become Miss Universe too.
Choi Soon-hwa is from South Korea.
She entered the local competition "Miss Universe South Korea".
The final of Miss Universe is in November in Mexico.
Ms Choi looks good for 80.
She's a mother and a grandmother.
As a young woman, her dream was to be a model.
A few years ago, she started a modelling course.
At 73, she started doing fashion shows.
The Miss Universe competition came next.
Ms Choi didn't win the competition in South Korea.
A 22-year-old woman won this year.
But the cameras were often on Ms Choi.
The doors of the fashion world will now open for her.
And for Ms Choi, that's the best prize.
