Astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore are finally home.

They went to space for 8 days.

But they returned after 256 days.

Williams and Wilmore left Earth in June.

They flew to the International Space Station (ISS).

But their spaceship had some problems.

They couldn't use it to return to Earth.

In September, more astronauts arrived on the ISS.

These astronauts had a 6-month ISS mission.

Their spaceship had seats for Williams and Wilmore.

But they needed to wait for the end of the mission.

Williams and Wilmore left the ISS on 18 March.

Their journey home took 17 hours.

They landed in the Gulf of Mexico.

This was Williams's third space mission.

Her total time in space is 608 days.

That's the second longest time in history.

A long time in space is bad for the body.

Doctors check astronauts' health on the ISS.

They check astronauts after their missions too.

Problems usually go away after people return to Earth.
